We want to let you know that we do our best in being Green. All of our recyclable waste is disposed of properly. Most of the waste we produce are paper based products. The great thing about paper products is that they have a wide range of uses. Here is what we do with ours:

1. First, we use shredded cardboard and paper for bedding in our worm farms 
2. We then use the shredded paper and cardboard for a source of carbon in our composting bins. 
3. The remaining shredded paper is made into improvised fuel pellets to burn during the winter. 
4. If there is any remaining cardboard it is crushed and bundled for the recylers to pick up. 

Our goal is to keep as much of the recycling in-house as possible. We do all of this to reduce our carbon footprint and that of our suppliers. 

Recently we started using non-toxic biodegradable packing peanuts made from corn starch to pack our fragile shipments in. Before now it was always up to the customer to figure out a way to dispose of styrofoam peanuts and most of the time it would end up in the trash. With our new starch based peanuts all you have to do is wash them down the drain with water, no mess, no fuss and no guilty conscience from dumping those foam peanuts in the trash! Now, how many other hydroponics store do that?
